Aston Villa: New chairman Steven Hollis promises 'shake-up'
New Aston Villa chairman Steven Hollis says the Premier League's bottom club needs a "shake-up".
Hollis, a business leader in the West Midlands, has been appointed by Villa owner Randy Lerner and will work alongside chief executive Tom Fox.
Hollis said a strong board would be behind changes needed to "overcome the under-performance Aston Villa has experienced over the last five years".
Lerner admitted Villa had "not been on a stable footing" over the same period.
United States-based Lerner bought Villa, whose 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday night was only their second in the Premier League this season, in 2006 and announced at the end of last season he was looking to sell the club.
He described Hollis as someone with a "proven track record for getting into the thick of troubled organisations, working with embattled executives and getting results".
