Lazar Markovic: Liverpool winger set for Fenerbahce loan move
Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.
A £20m signing from Benfica last summer, the 21-year-old is being allowed to move to aid his development and Liverpool insist he will be returning to Anfield.
Talks are ongoing but a deal is close, with the Reds receiving a loan fee.
The Serbia international made 34 appearances, including 11 Premier League starts, last season.
Despite a mixed first year at Anfield, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers still has high hopes Markovic.
Unlike with Italy striker Mario Balotelli, who Liverpool want to offload permanently to AC Milan after his loan move, Rodgers still hopes Markovic returns to fulfil the promise the Northern Irishman believed he had when he signed him.
