Mikael Lustig has a "50-50" chance of being fit as Celtic look to protect a 3-2 lead in their Champions League play-off second leg against Malmo.
The Sweden right-back injured a hamstring during last week's first-leg win in Glasgow.
Striker Nadir Ciftci returns to the squad after serving the fifth of a six-game domestic ban on Saturday.
Malmo have top scorer Markus Rosenberg and midfielder Enock Kofi Adu back after being banned for the first leg.
The Swedish champions are looking for a repeat of last season, when they overcame a 2-1 first-leg deficit against Salzburg with a 3-0 home win to progress to the group stage for the first time.
Rosenberg, the 32-year-old former Ajax, Werder Bremen, West Bromwich Albion and Sweden striker, went on to score three of Malmo's four goals in their six group games.
In his absence in Glasgow, Jo Inge Berget, the midfielder who failed to become a first-team regular when on loan to Celtic from Cardiff City last season, scored both Malmo's first-leg goals.
Despite summer signing Ciftci's availability, Leigh Griffiths is likely to start up front for Celtic having scored twice in the first leg to justify being chosen ahead of the Turk.
The former Hibernian and Wolves striker, who was named in the Scotland squad on Monday, was also on the scoresheet on Saturday as Dundee United were beaten 3-1 by a much-changed Celtic side.
While that kept Ronny Deila's team two points behind early Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, Malmo's inconsistent domestic form continued under his Norwegian compatriot, Age Hareide.
A 1-0 defeat away to Hacken leaves Malmo in fifth place, seven points behind leaders Gothenburg, but the Swedbank Stadion has sold out its 24,000 capacity in anticipation of a victory against Celtic.
Deila's side are looking to avoid dropping into the Europa League for the second successive season.
Celtic fell short at the same stage last year, losing to Maribor of Slovenia after being handed a reprieve following defeat by a Legia Warsaw side who had fielded an ineligible player.
Malmo striker Markus Rosenberg: "We have no pressure on us. We have done it once and can do it again.
"It is much easier the second time because we know we can do it.
"Many teams tipped as favourites have come here and lost."
Celtic assistant manager John Collins: "Mikael's made a lot of progress in the last few days.
"We'll give him right up to the last minute to see if he can make it. I think it's safe to say he's 50-50.
"We're very much looking forward to it. We're creating chances, we're scoring goals, we're in very good form.
"It's where we want to be, it's half-time, we're 3-2 up, we're in the driving seat.
"We'll try to control the game with the ball, we'll try to go forward and create chances when we've got the opportunity.
"When we lose the ball we'll defend as a unit."
