Harry Kane has sought advice from England team-mate Wayne Rooney after his failure to score this season.
Tottenham striker Kane, 22, was the second highest Premier League scorer in 2014-15 with 21 goals but is goalless in four games this campaign.
He is in the England squad with Rooney for back-to-back Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland.
"I've been able to pick his brain. Wayne has done it year in, year out," said Kane.
"I like talking to players like that and seeing how he has dealt with it."
Rooney, 29, has scored 48 goals for England – one short of Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 49 goals.
Kane was named PFA Young Player of Year after scoring 31 goals for Spurs in all competitions during his breakthrough campaign last season.
"As a striker you always go through spells when you're on fire and sometimes it doesn't go your way but I'm full of self-belief that I've got goals in me," Kane added.
After featuring in England's unsuccessful Under-21 European Championship campaign, Kane returns to the senior side for whom he made his goalscoring debut in the 4-0 win over Lithuania in March.
Victory in San Marino on Saturday could see England secure their spot at next summer's Euro 2016 finals in France with three games remaining.
Kane is confident of securing qualification in Serravalle and opening his account for the season against the team ranked 193rd in the world.
"We should pick up the three points against San Marino and have some good chances so hopefully I can get off the mark for the season."
However, England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is more cautious, claiming San Marino – who have never won any qualifying game – are "very competitive" and "there to win the game".
"These games can be some of the trickiest when everyone expects you to go away with an 8-0 win," the Arsenal player said.
