Southampton face Danish champions FC Midtjylland on Thursday hoping to seal a place in the Europa League group stages for the first time.
Victor Wanyama played in last week's 1-1 first-leg draw but has been linked with a move away and will not feature.
Sadio Mane is doubtful after being forced off in Sunday's draw at Watford because of a hip problem.
Ryan Bertrand (knee) and Jordy Clasie (hamstring) remain unavailable, as does Fraser Forster, a long-term absentee.
With the draw for the group stages taking place on Friday, the play-off is delicately poised after ex-Saints player Tim Sparv gave Midtjylland the lead and a valuable away goal just before the break in last week's first match.
Jay Rodriguez scored his first goal since March 2014 to level against the side beaten in the third qualifying round of this year's Champions League by Apoel.
"You learn different styles of play from different countries and we've got to take the experience from the last leg into the second one," Rodriguez said.
"We're confident in every game we go into that we've done our work and we've worked hard on our philosophy and our play. We believe that we are strong and we're coming here to win."
