Europa League: Big names await Celtic in group draw
Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur are among Celtic's potential Europa League opponents as the group stage draw is made in Monaco on Friday.
The Scottish champions missed out on the Champions League group stage when they lost to Malmo on Tuesday.
Celtic drop down to the Europa League and will be in Pot 2 for the draw, which means they will avoid possible meetings with Liverpool and Lazio.
But Villarreal and Schalke are among the other top seeds who lie in wait.
The pots below Celtic also include some intriguing potential opponents.
French side Monaco, Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and Norwegian outfit Midtjylland, who knocked out Southampton, could be in Celtic's group.
Celtic could resume their rivalry with two clubs who defeated the Scots in European competition in recent years only to have their victories overturned for fielding ineligible players.
Swiss outfit Sion beat Celtic in the 2011 Europa League qualifiers, while Polish side Legia Warsaw defeated Celtic in Champions League qualifying last season.
Qarabag, the Azerbaijan side who lost to Celtic in Champions League qualifying, are also potential opponents from Pot 4.
The draw at 12:00 BST features 48 clubs, 16 who automatically qualified for the group stage from Europe's major leagues based on their coefficients, 10 who lost in the Champions League play-offs and 22 who qualified through the Europa League's own early knock-out stages.
Group matches will be held on 17 September, 1 and 22 October, 5 and 26 November and 10 December.
