Albert Adomah: Middlesbrough winger submits transfer request
Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah has submitted a transfer request, reports Golsicilia.it Tees, but boss Aitor Karanka says he "can't imagine" the scenario.
The Ghana international, 27, has 18 goals in 98 games since joining from Bristol City in August 2013 for £1m.
He was left out of Tuesday's League Cup win at Burton, with Karanka reluctant to speak of Adomah's future.
"I couldn't speak with the CEO, I can't imagine Albert has presented a transfer request," Karanka said.
"The numbers are on the table, he's played 82 games for me, he was the captain at Oldham, I have said many times how important he is for the team.
"I heard from him after the Oldham game and he was very proud to wear the armband, so for that reason I can't imagine him handing in a request."
One player whose future could lie away from the Riverside Stadium is winger Mustapha Carayol.
The 26-year-old signed a two-year extension to his contract in April but is yet to feature this season and Karanka says he could be moving on loan to Huddersfield.
"He came to my office asking to leave to play," said Karanka. "I understood, we're trying to find him the best place to play.
"Huddersfield could be a good place for him. If he's happy going there, we're happy."
