TEAM NEWS
Hearts will be without the services of defender Juwon Oshinawa, who was red-carded in the defeat by Inverness Caledonian Thistle last week.
But the hosts hope Morgaro Gomis will be back in Edinburgh in time to face Aberdeen on Sunday after returning to Paris following a family bereavement.
Miguel Pallardo and Blazej Augustyn are back to fitness, while Soufian El Hassnaoui could make his comeback soon.
Aberdeen will be without suspended winger Johnny Hayes.
Hayes was sent off against Celtic last weekend and an appeal against the dismissal was unsuccessful.
COMMENTATOR’S NOTES
It may surprise many that Aberdeen's recent record against Hearts is extremely poor. Indeed the Pittodrie side have just the one victory over the Tynecastle team in the last 14 meetings of the teams.
That came at Pittodrie in March 2013 when a Niall McGinn double was good enough to secure all three points for the Dons but you have to look back to January 2010 for the last time they defeated Hearts at Tynecastle, a 3-0 win on what proved to be Csaba Laszlo's final game at the helm for Hearts.
Hearts go into the match on the back of two defeats in a row, the first time this has happened since head coach Robbie Neilson and director of football Craig Levein took control last summer.
The match is a complete sell-out ensuring that the noise levels inside the stadium come Sunday afternoon will be at fever pitch.
