TEAM NEWS
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw may not play again this season after his horrific double leg break.
As a result, Marcos Rojo is set to earn his first league start of this campaign, while Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney are available again.
Southampton forward Sadio Mane could be restored to the starting line-up after being on the bench last weekend.
Ryan Bertrand, Jordy Clasie, Fraser Forster and Florin Gardos remain out, and Gaston Ramirez is a doubt.
WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman on Morgan Schneiderlin's return to the club as a Manchester United player: "I hope the reaction to him is a positive one. He did everything for the club, he had a great time in Southampton, he was ready for the next step.
"We had a very good relationship after the difficult summer that we had at the club, his reaction was fantastic, he had a big part in a big season last year and it's best for him and for the player, that's the important thing.
"He's now a player for Manchester United and I wish him the best, but not on Sunday."
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on Luke Shaw's injury: "I called him last night. He sounds very strong which is amazing to me, a big surprise, but a good signal.
"But he knows also that it is a long way to go and it is not easy.
"It is a big loss for us, also for the team. I said in advance already it will be the season of Luke Shaw and now it's finished nearly.
"He started so well, we built up a left wing with Memphis Depay and Shaw, but we have to start filling it again and it is not easy. But we have to do it."
LAWRO’S PREDICTION
Louis van Gaal's team still looks very pedestrian, even with Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial in the side, and this might be a trickier game for Manchester United than some people might expect.
With four points from their last two games, Southampton have turned the corner from their iffy start and I am backing them to spring a bit of a surprise here.
