Celtic will be without Charlie Mulgrew for Thursday's Europa League opener away to Ajax.
The versatile defender has a thigh injury, with assistant manager John Collins saying the Scotland international could miss "a few weeks".
"Charlie is the only one not here," said Collins at Glasgow Airport ahead of the flight to Amsterdam. "It is a blow, he's an experienced player.
"He's played in a lot of big games so we just hope he has a speedy recovery."
Left-back Emilio Izaguirre is fit after missing Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Aberdeen, while Mulgrew's absence could mean Jozo Simunovic makes his debut following his deadline day move from Dinamo Zagreb.
When asked if the Croatia Under-21 star would feature, Collins replied: "There is every chance. The team is not picked yet but he trained very well yesterday."
Mikael Lustig, Tyler Blackett and Efe Ambrose are other alternatives in central defence for manager Ronny Deila.
"It's always important to start well," added Collins. "It'll be a tough challenge. Ajax are a good, young team.
"I watched their two Champions League qualifiers and they played well. They were very unlucky not to qualify. They are a quality team, a great club with great history so it'll be a wonderful challenge for us.
"It's another game and another tournament that we want to do well in. We did fairly well in it last season and we want to do exactly the same again this year.
"We enjoy being favourites. It's always a good sign when you are but we won't be tomorrow night. They're the home team and it'll be a tough match but it's a game we can go and win."
Ajax striker Yaya Sonogo, on loan from Arsenal, is a doubt as he recovers from a groin problem.
Fenerbahce and Molde are the other sides in Group A.
