Eva Carneiro: Mourinho treatment of Chelsea doctor on Fifa agenda
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's treatment of team doctor Eva Carneiro is to be discussed by world governing body Fifa.
Carneiro's role was reduced after she and head physio Jon Fearn went on the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in the first game of the season against Swansea.
Mourinho called it "impulsive and naive" with Chelsea temporarily down to nine men with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois having been sent off.
It is on the agenda of the Fifa medical committee meeting on 11 September.
The committee is expected to make clear its support of team doctors acting in the best interest of players.
Chairman Michel D'Hooghe said: "This is once again an example of the difficult situation of the team doctor and I want to discuss this with my colleagues and to see if we need to give a declaration from the medical side to help team doctors.
"The most important thing is if he arrives in a situation where he thinks he has to judge between his medical duty and other issues then he must not hesitate. You would expect me to support a team doctor."
Mourinho was criticised for his comments about the medical team after the game but refused to back down.
