Tyler Blackett: Manchester United defender close to Celtic loan

Celtic are close to signing Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett on loan until the end of the season.

The England Under-21 cap can play in central defence or at left-back.

Blackett, 21, made 12 appearances for United last season and has previously had loan spells at Blackpool and Birmingham City.

Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic with Southampton interested in the 24-year-old.
